eShed
This network for young people interested in film and media engaged and inspired participation in creativity and the moving image. A steering group of young people worked together with Watershed to keep the website updated, programme new work, stimulate debate and discussion and run film and media related events.
Nov 2006 - Apr 2010
Watershed provides opportunities to explore, create and discuss all aspects of moving image media, opening up talent pathways for young people in the creative industries. eShed was a Bristol-based network for young people aged 14-21 interested in film and media which engaged and inspired participation in creativity and the moving image.
Members of the eShed network exhibited their own short films, reviewed films, interviewed internationally recognised filmmakers such as the actor Paddy Considine, travelled to film festivals and participated in industry panel discussions. In August 2009 they met and interviewed Martha Lane Fox, the dot.com entrepreneur and Digital Champion.
In 2007 and 2008 eShed curated Electric December, Watershed’s online advent calendar. They were involved in all stages of the project – selecting the films, designing the website and producing trailers. In 2008, its tenth year, Electric December showcased content from across Europe for the first time ever. Young people from Spain, Germany, Poland, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania and UK made the 24 virtual treats.
