Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee

Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee is a feature-length comedy by award-winning British director, Shane Meadows. The film is shot in a documentary style, akin to This is Spinal Tap, and features Meadows' long-time collaborator Paddy Considine as Le Donk, an aging roadie.  In the film, Le Donk, who is also a failed musician, mentors Scorzayzee (Scorz), an aspriring rapper whose authenticity and unpretentious style gets him noticed by the Arctic Monkeys, who arrange for him to perform with them at their Old Trafford Cricket Ground gig.

In this honest and often humorous discussion Paddy and Scorz discuss the sense of freedom and fun enjoyed in making a film which deliberately steps away from a traditional feature filmmaking schedule to improvising in a five day shoot, winging it with the Arctic Monkeys and making the most of director Shane Meadow's creative approach to filmmaking.

Paddy Considine is an award-winning British actor, screenwriter, musician, and filmmaker who has a long association with director Shane Meadows. He has appeared in a number of films, including Dead Man's Shoes, Hot Fuzz, My Summer of Love, and The Bourne Ultimatum.

Scorzayzee is a Nottingham-based rapper who shot to fame after his contraversial song 'Great Britain' - a scathing response to the war in Iraq and hypocrisy amongst the elite of the country - was picked up by the media.

Presented in partnership with BAFTA and South West Screen.
