Slapstick Festival
A collection of talks and events from the Bristol-based festival showcasing classic silent and visual comedy. The Festival runs annually, and features a host of industry talent and comedy luminaries.
The Slapstick festival is a Bristol-based comedy festival presented by Bristol Silents that has been running yearly since 2006, and features silent comedies and various events and talks, some of which are held at Watershed.
Alongside showcasing a wealth of classic silent and visual comedy, the festival has featured a host of industry talent and some of the previous guests include Rob Brydon (Gavin and Stacey), Shappi Khorsandi (BBC Radio 4), Ian Lavender (Eastenders), The Goodies, Richard Goleszowski (Shaun The Sheep), Neil Innes (Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band), Paul McGann (Withnail & I).
In 2008 the Festival developed the Aardman/Slapstick Award in collaboration with Aardman Animations, and previous winners include Eric Sykes, Michael Palin, and The Goodies.
This collection brings together some of the previous talks and events that the Slapstick festival has held at Watershed.
