Watershed and You

This collection brings together a sample of the creative work Watershed has produced with you over the years, using digital technology to explore your creative potential and tell your stories.

People are the engine of our organisation. We will never forget that we are here for the people we work with and for - without them, Watershed would not exist.
-  Watershed Council of Management Report 2011

Since opening its doors in 1982, Watershed has worked with people to produce work that spans film, visual art, music, theatre, design, and creative technology. Watershed now possesses an impressive portfolio of work that has been produced at and through the venue over the years – none of which would have been possible without the people who made, watched, explored, and supported it - you.

People are at the very heart of what Watershed is, and does. Whether online or in person; the young, the elderly, teachers and students, parents and children, filmmakers, artists, technologists, and film-fans alike, (or just the hungry and the curious) – all are welcome, and all are invited to learn, watch, exchange, create, and play.

Dick Penny, Watershed’s Managing Director says:
Watershed is a 'connector' – we aim to do things with people, not for people. If we're not on the learning journey, we're not a participant. This involves creating spaces where things can happen - not just physical spaces, but cultural and intellectual ones. This only works if you keep bringing new people into the equation…
