Watershed Education Department organises moving image activities for
young people on Saturday afternoons and for school groups during the week,
runs conferences and training sessions for teachers, and programmes events,
courses and summer schools for the public. We collaborate with a wide
range of schools, colleges, universities, filmmmakers, arts practitioners
and funders to deliver this programme.
We are especially interested in the educational uses of new technologies.
This is our third web resource for students of 16+ and their teachers.
The other two can be found at www.watershed.co.uk/east,
about the marketing campaign for the film, East is East and www.depict.org,
about the making of the one minute film, As I Was Falling. Work by pupils
from 8 Bristol schools on a digital advent calendar can be found on www.12days.net.
We aim to extend our activity beyond our Bristol base, and the creation
of web
resources is a way of achieving this.
Watershed provides opportunities for all to experience, enjoy and learn
about contemporary moving image media. The programme of feature films,
video, multimedia, the Internet, photography, courses and events is presented
in two cinemas, a digital café, darkrooms, a digital suite and
on the world wide web. We also have one of the most relaxed, welcoming
Café/Bars in the city.
