Know Your Audience: Painless Data Collection

This practical and interactive workshop will demonstrate how you can use data meaningfully in your organisation - whatever your scale. It will help you to identify the most useful data for you to collect and show how to collect it when you’re pressed for time, money and staff. With a mixture of practical tools and templates you can use back at the office, principles of data collection and case studies of data in action, the workshop will equip you with the confidence and know how to tackle your data collection challenges.
The day will include the implications of the new data protection legislation and what you need to know, as well as a step by step guide to completing monitoring forms for funded projects including the Film Hub SWWM's Cinema Incentive Scheme.
The workshop will be led by Sarah Boiling, a freelance consultant specialising in research, evaluation and audience development, and an experienced trainer. Sarah has also led a number of research and data projects for the Film Audience Network and its members, and has in-depth knowledge of cultural film exhibition.
