Watershed

Commissions/Residencies

In a rapidly shifting technological landscape, finding time and space to develop ideas that explore the potential of new technologies is difficult. Watershed offers a number of development and residency schemes that address this dilemma, including:

Artists Residencies
A range of opportunities that offer practitioners from across art forms, financial, technical and conceptual support to research and develop new ideas using creative technologies. Read about: South West Artists Residencies, Micro-residency, Cross-European Residency, Embedded Artists Residency

Media Sandbox
A development scheme that supports digital media companies to explore pioneering ideas using new technologies

Theatre Sandbox
A development scheme that supports theatre companies from across the UK to develop new work using digital technologies.

Heritage Sandbox
Heritage Sandbox, part of REACT, supports six projects exploring new experiences around heritage and is designed to encourage collaborations between arts and humanities researchers and creative economy companies.

Graduate and New Talent Residencies
Pervasive Media Studio takes on graduate and new talent every year, offering a unique opportunity for bright people with great ideas to spend time developing a pervasive idea (commercial or creative) in an open and collaborative space.

Start-up Residencies
Pervasive Media Studio Start-up Residencies support early-stage projects and start-ups. The scheme is tailored to the needs of new businesses and projects exploring innovative ways of using pervasive technologies.
