evaluation what the students said |

Art & Design SMRT said: the course had been too short, the time had gone frighteningly fast, but that the level of work was challenging or "just right. " the high points of the project had been learning about cameras and taking photos, the site visits, and working with the Henbury students at their well equipped IT facilities. tutors communicated well about the course content, but there was lack of communication between schools the launch was a bit low key, and they didn't like sitting on the floor.
overall these students were pleased with the outcome of the project, they felt both the presentation and web site were impressive.

IT Henbury said: duration and the level of the project was about right; challenging, but not too difficult. it was good working with students from another school but communication between staff could have been better! their confidence levels had increased as they began to produce the Powerpoint presentation and web pages working with material supplied by SMRT students. in retrospect, more time needed to run through final presentation and web site at Watershed before the launch overall their assessment was good, they felt useful communication and technical skills had been learned. Hands-on time was sufficient to get the work done and they enjoyed excellent computer facilities at Henbury School, although working between PCs at school and Macs at Watershed caused a few problems. |
Business SMRT only 3 took part in evaluation, and they said: the course was too long and too challenging. despite attending the induction and planing sessions, they did not understand their role, which was to organise the launch. they felt they were "rushed and behind schedule when the launch date arrived", and this caused stress. most of the group did not make it to the launch because of a timetable clash which meant they were at an event in Birmingham and could not get back in time. overall their experience was poor, they felt "chucked in at the deep end" and needed far more support and guidance.
