Fancy yourself as a prince (or princess) of darkness? Like screaming guitars, blinding pyrotechnics and blown-out eardrums?

Stop practicing your air guitar in the mirror, take your headbanging out of the sweaty mosh pit - we want you to show off these crucial life skills to the world in Watershed's very own competition, open to die hard metal fans and non-believers alike. This competition of all competitions is held in honour of Watershed screening the film Metal: A Headbanger's Journey - an intimate tribute to the dark side of rock - from Friday 23 June.

All you have to do is get a friend to take a short video clip (up to 15 seconds to be precise) of you headbanging or playing your personal air guitar and send it to metal@watershed.co.uk. You can do this direct from your camera phone or upload it from a digital camera. Due to all those legal issue things, the soundtrack won't be included so make that performance count. Oh, you also have to be over 18 if you want to take part.

Every clip (that has been deemed suitable - no nakedness or bat-eating please) will be entered into an online battle so that an adoring public can vote for their favourite video. Click on 'Play' now in the menu above to see the entries so far.

You'll be able to see who's doing well and who sucks along the way too. The winner will be picked on Monday 19 June and they'll get to bring themselves and 3 mates to Watershed to see the film, have a bevvy and food in the Café/Bar, and generally enjoy their success.

Rock on.
