Get voting online for the DepicT! Audience Award

DepicT!, Watershed’s international competition as part of Encounters Short Film Festival is very proud to announce that the 2009 shortlist of 90 second mini movies is now available to view over at depict.org. Each year DepicT! challenges emerging filmmakers to show what they can do in just 90 seconds or less.

2009 has been an exceptional year. Out of a dizzying 340 films from 39 countries, 11 snappy cinematic shorts have been shortlisted for their originality, imagination and ability to engage the viewer.

The shortlist includes a modern take on Alice in Wonderland, poignant and beautifully made animations, a Nan creating the perfect breakfast sandwich, a personal history told through photo booth pictures and a wry cautionary tale on a subject matter often left at the bathroom door.

These 11 films are now in the running for this year's three DepicT! prizes which will be announced during Encounters Short Film Festival in November. The prestigious awards include the new British Special Mention Award: a package of opportunities from NFTS, BAFTA and the British Council.
