Watershed celebrates 30 years of media, music and magic on Thu 7 June
Watershed is celebrating its 30th Birthday on Thu 7 June. The world was a very different place 30 years ago. No mobile phones or internet. With an uncanny sense of foresight, Watershed opened in 1982, the only year in history that Time Magazine’s Person of The Year was a computer.

This week the 65th Cannes Film Festival kicked off, and amongst the red carpet, A-listers and yachts our Head of Programme Mark Cosgrove will be in the thick it, searching for films, partnerships and creative ideas to bring back to Bristol, and to Watershed.
Made in Bristol
We will be celebrating our 30th birthday on 7th June by showcasing some of the extraordinary creativity that comes out of Bristol, screening 30 hours of creative work Made in Bristol. And to show how much great television continues to be Made In Bristol, the city has this year been nominated for a whopping 14 BAFTA Awards!

We may not look it, but we're fast approaching the big 3-0, and we're busy beavering away behind the scenes to make it a day to remember not only for us but also for you, everyone who has engaged with us whether audience, artist, funder or staff. Come and play with us at our open day on Thu 7 June!
Hollywood beckons for DepicT! '11 Winner
DepicT! proves it's a genuine springboard to success with the news that previous winner Tim Bassford has won the top prize in The Pitch: a £25,000 budget for a short film and a trip to Hollywood to meet industry professionals.

Watershed is 30 in June, which means that for thirty solid years we have, come rain or shine, produced a brochure for all of those 360 months. It no longer serves its original purpose so we'll be making some changes but whatever we do, we want to make sure that you are catered for: let us know your thoughts.
