The internationally renowned Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival returns to Watershed from Tue 17- Sun 22 September, offering a chance to catch the best and brightest emerging talent from around the world.

Save the date for an inspiring line-up of screenings, live performances, talks, special guests and gala events. Highlights include a focus on contemporary Swiss cinema, a retrospective of Richard Williams (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) and a music video showcase. All your perennial favourites will be there too, from the Best of South West to the weird and wonderful Late Lounge and the Shorts2Features feature film strand.

You can now book a Festival Pass (£75 full price, £60 for students) to access screenings and industry events - such as masterclasses, panels and networking sessions - or a Screening Pass (£25) to enjoy all of the short film programmes. Passes have limited availability so book early to avoid disappointment! Tickets for individual events will be on sale in mid-August - so keep checking back.

For all things animated, be sure to check out what’s going on just across the harbourside at Arnolfini. Or if you prefer your entertainment al fresco, get down to Bristol’s parks for the Solar Cinema Tour.
