Nottingham, November '97. Enter a room containing a large vinyl cube, covered in film projections. The speeded up video footage, apparently taken from around the Bonnington Building, showed people resembling ants in an anthill, rushing around. Viewed from inside the cube these images contrasted effectively with the real-time shadows created by pilgrims to this virtual Wendy house, as circumnavigating the outside to reach the cubeÕs entrance one could be viewed unknowingly by those already inside. Everyone could become part of the piece and, play with it in a way akin to creating shadow pictures with hand silhouettes. The projection of sky on the ceiling reminded me of ÔFluffy CloudsÕ by The Orb, and brought on the urge to lie down, and watch this fast flowing image. Where were the mattresses? I could have spent all day in that ÒtentÓ. A big kidÕs hideaway. The soundtrack varied from speeded up voices, to gurgly running water, that fitted in well with the hectic pace of the film footage. Were the life cycles of theses people being drawn down the plug hole or was this an invasion of the sound effects from a Czechoslovakian animation? If so, Where was the howling gale sound effect? Inside was akin to being contained inside the digestive system of a close circuit security camera..... The flight cases placed around the outside of the extravaganza primarily to block the projections so that the images covered the cube precisely, made it seem recently unpacked or Tardis-like, about to dematerialize and become a virtual Wendy house someplace else.
