Wildscreenings: Ivo The Unauthorised Biography of a Zoo (PG)
54 mins
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Jan 1970
Ivo is a well-known zoo gorilla. Today he lives in Berlin but in the past he has lived in zoos throughout Europe. But wherever he has lived he has attracted attention and a devout following (especially women). Despite his popularity Ivo is not regarded as a success. He has not been able to reproduce. Ivo’s story is told through the stories of the people who have become part of his life. Each has his or her own vision of the gorilla and each tells a part of his history from childhood through puberty to adulthood. As the film progresses the pieces of Ivo’s life slowly come together and we are given an insight into the nature of his existence.
All Wildscreenings are free; Subject to availability tickets can be collected from Box Office on the day of the screening. You can call Box Office on (0117) 927 5100, and reserve tickets but you must collect them on the day an hour before the start time of the screening.
NB: the advertised times are the actual starting times of each programme for all Wildscreenings.
