Wildscreenings: Hyena Queen (PG)
54 mins
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Oct 2008
Hyena Queen is the intimate story of a spotted hyena clan as told through the eyes of experiences of filmmaker Kim Wolhuter. Kim developed a close relationship with a small clan living in Mala Mala Wildlife Reserve in South Africa and gained unanticipated access to their intricate social behaviour. He set out to debunk the negative stereotypes that have long plagued hyenas by showing how intelligent, adaptable and social they are. By sheer luck he captured their story during a surprisingly dramatic and unusual year in the clan’s life.
All screenings are suitable for family viewing but this screening contains sequences which may be distressing for young audiences.
All Wildscreenings are free; Subject to availability tickets can be collected from Box Office on the day of the screening. You can call Box Office on (0117) 927 5100, and reserve tickets but you must collect them on the day an hour before the start time of the screening.
NB: the advertised times are the actual starting times of each programme for all Wildscreenings.
