Wildscreenings: Gimme Green (PG)
27 mins
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Oct 2008
Lawns are undeniably an American symbol. But what do they really symbolize? Pride and prosperity? Or waste and conformity? Gimme Green is a humorous look at the American obsession with the residential lawn and the effects is has on their environment, wallets and outlook on life. It’s estimated that Americans use approximately half of their household water to keep their yards looking good. By examining the social, commercial and environmental pressures surrounding the green grass aesthetic, the film explores how Americans are pressured into consuming in order to conform.
All Wildscreenings are free; Subject to availability tickets can be collected from Box Office on the day of the screening. You can call Box Office on (0117) 927 5100, and reserve tickets but you must collect them on the day an hour before the start time of the screening.
