Wildscreenings: Battle to Save the Tiger (Award Winner) (PG)
49 mins
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Oct 2008
The tiger, our most charismatic big cat, faces extinction in the wild. David Attenborough narrates this moving documentary tracing the history of man’s relationship with the tiger from the 1960s when tiger shooting was legal to the present day when huge numbers of fresh skins are being illegally traded from India to Tibet and China. This is a story of three champions of tiger conservation – an undercover investigator, a tireless political campaigner and a whistle-blowing scientist – and their dogged pursuit of the truth. Their actions have brought them into stark conflict with Project Tiger, the very government body set up to protect the tiger in India.
All Wildscreenings are free; Subject to availability tickets can be collected from Box Office on the day of the screening. You can call Box Office on (0117) 927 5100, and reserve tickets but you must collect them on the day an hour before the start time of the screening.
NB: the advertised times are the actual starting times of each programme for all Wildscreenings.
