Wildscreenings: What Females Want (PG)
57 mins
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Oct 2008
In the complex world of sexual selection unique behaviours, elaborate courtship displays and special adaptations all help determine who picks whom, who mates with whom and who produces the offspring that carry genes into the next generation. In the animal world it’s females that decide. But their decisions may not always be what others expect. What are females looking for? A special sound or smell? A flashy display? A beautiful mane? A booming voice? A touch of red? Babysitting skills? Females, it seems are nothing if not demanding. Scientists around the world are making amazing new discoveries about the complexities of courtship throughout the animal kingdom. Employing cutting-edge technology, robotics, chemical analysis and special cameras, What Females Want is sexual education that goes way beyond the birds and the bees.
All Wildscreenings are free; Subject to availability tickets can be collected from Box Office on the day of the screening. You can call Box Office on (0117) 927 5100, and reserve tickets but you must collect them on the day an hour before the start time of the screening.
NB: the advertised times are the actual starting times of each programme for all Wildscreenings.

A festival of film and music
We're mad about music and film. So much so we've created a new festival dedicated to this most enduring of relationships, and this month there's a focus on the music of the maestro Ennio Morricone.
