The Animals Save the Planet

Plasticine animals from the Aardman Animations menagerie demonstrate the benefits of living a greener lifestyle. The animals are given a positive voice showing us humans that by altering our lifestyles just a little, we can make a big difference.

Bama’s Journey

Alfred Bama, from Cameroon’s north-west province, works at the Limbe Wildlife Centre, a sanctuary for orphaned primates who have lost their families to the illegal trade in bushmeat. He cares for a group of eleven gorillas he now considers to be his family. Bama is unique in Cameroon. Unlike many of his fellow countrymen who eat gorilla for food, he works tirelessly to care for their every need. To him gorillas are like people and he is on a mission to convince Cameroonians to protect these animals before it is too late. Now he’s been selected to spend one month working at Chester Zoo in England on a keeper exchange programme. Bama’s Journey examines how the modern world impacts on Bama and how Bama’s old world style impacts on those he meets. Will the delights of Europe appeal or will he discover that real wealth is still in Africa, exactly where he left it?
