LLGFF: Dolls (18) S
Dir: Karin Babinská
Cast: Filip Blazek, Marie Dolezalova, Erik Kalivoda, Richard Krajco 99 mins, 2007, Czech Republic, Subtitled
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in July 2009
This beautifully crafted and richly layered tale embodies a time of excitement and discovery as three high school girlfriends embark on one last summer together before parting ways. After graduation, they set off on a hitchhiking journey to Holland (with one of the girls’ little brothers tagging along) where they find work on a farm and experience events which will have lasting impact on their relationships and lives. Teetering on the edge of adulthood, each young woman takes a step closer to finding her place in the world.

A festival of film and music
