Away We Go (15)
Dir: Sam Mendes
Cast: Maya Rudolph, John Krasinski 98 mins, 2009, USA/UK
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in Sept 2009
When Burt’s (John Krasinski, ‘The Office’ US version) parents announce an imminent international move, he and his pregnant partner Verona (Maya Rudolph, ‘Saturday Night Live’) find they have no reason to stay in Colorado. Looking for the perfect place to start their new family, they embark on a road trip to visit a motley crew of old friends and relatives across North America – from Verona’s mad former colleague in Phoenix (Allison Janney) to Burt’s militant cousin in Wisconsin (Maggie Gyllenhall). Penned by American literary royalty couple Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida and directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty), Away We Go is a hilarious and heartfelt journey across America.
