St Pauls Carnival Fringe Season: Culture Clash On The Front Line: Jamaicans In Bristol (CTBA)
Dir: Borja Cantera
50 mins, 2010, UK
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in July 2010
This home-grown documentary on the complexities of race in Bristol marks the 30th Anniversary of the St Pauls riots. Narrated by poet Miles Chambers and featuring community members and archive footage, it digs deep into the last six decades of St Pauls. Told from the locals' perspective, this emotive story sees generations of descendents go through a process of reconciliation. Followed by a discussion with the director, his team and members of the community.
This is a free event. Please collect a ticket from Box Office on the day.
