LLGFF: Children of God (18)
Dir: Kareem J Mortimer
Cast: Johnny Ferro, Stephen Tyrone Williams 103 mins, 2009, Bahamas
Please note: this was screened in Aug 2010
Johnny, a white Bahamian artist from Nassau, relocates to a rural island where he meets confident local boy Romeo with whom he embarks on a passionate love affair. When Romeo's fiancée and overbearing mother arrive unannounced, he is asked to make some important decisions about his life and his relationship with Johnny. Children of God signals director Mortimer as a hugely promising talent in the future of world cinema.
