Hong Sangsoo Season: Virgin Stripped Bare by her Bachelors (18)
Dir: Hong Sangsoo
Cast: Eun-ju Lee, Seong-kun Mun 126 mins, 2000, South Korea
Please note: this was screened in Sept 2010
The title references Marcel Duchamp because this splintered narrative is founded on very different points of view about the same events. 24-year-old Sujeong steels herself to surrender her virginity to gallery owner Jaehoon, who was introduced to her by her married (but amorous) boss. But very little tallies in their respective memories of what brought them to this point... a funny film that reinvents the rom-com in cubist terms.
Fee: All screenings £7.00 full / £5.50 concessions. Ticket offer: Buy four or more tickets to separate screenings - get one free (subject to availability). This discount is not available online - call Box Office on 0117 927 5100 or visit in person to take up this offer.

Hong Sangsoo: Between Men and Women
Please note: this is a old season with no further events to see
South Korean director Hong Sangsoo's masterful storytelling and painfully acute, witty deconstructions of human relationships have earned him much critical acclaim. Here is a long overdue retrospective of his original, honest and intimate films.
