Arrietty (U) S

Studio Ghibli do it again with their latest, a wonderfully enchanting adaptation of Mary Norton's classic book The Borrowers. Transposing 1950s England to modern day Tokyo, it follows a family of tiny people, the Borrowers, who live underneath the floorboards of a grand country house. When 14 year old, 10cm tall Arrietty is spotted by poorly Sho, a little boy staying in the house, the Borrowers' peaceful way of life is threatened and they must work together to preserve it. Gorgeously animated and detailed, Arrietty is a masterpiece in miniature. Showing with DepicT! short film: When a Hen Eats a Bee.
