The Skin I Live In (15) S
Dir: Pedro Almodovar
Cast: Elena Anaya, Antonio Banderas 120 mins, 2011, Spain, Subtitled
Please note: this was screened in Dec 2011
Your chance to catch Antonio Banderas as Robert, a brilliant but deranged plastic surgeon obsessed with creating a superhuman skin: sensitive to the touch but strong and fire resistant. He experiments on imprisoned human guinea pig Vera (Elena Anaya) in his theatre, but a tiger-suited criminal threatens to disrupt Robert's master plan: who is this mysterious Vera, and what happened to his wife and daughter? To reveal too much would be to spoil its terrific twists. Almodovar operates with elegant precision, visiting many of his themes (sexual identity, bodies, power and desire) while fashioning a superb Frankenstein's monster of a film: part mad melodrama, part psychosexual thriller and completely pleasurably perverse.
"A ravishing must-see movie with a must-keep-secret twist." Telegraph

Iron Sky
Wed 23 May at 20:20
In 1945 the Nazis fled to the moon. Now it's 2018 - and they're coming back! Iron Sky is a deliciously over the top and riotously enjoyable romp that, it's safe to say, doesn't take itself too seriously.
