Sunday Brunches: Morricone's Spaghetti Westerns - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (18) S
Dir: Sergio Leone
Cast: Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach 179 mins, 1966, Italy/Spain/West Germany, Subtitled
Please note: this was screened in Feb 2012
Leone completed the Dollars trilogy with this, one of the most ambitious, graphic, and stylistically influential Westerns ever made. The titular threesome (Eastwood, Van Cleef and a hugely enjoyable Eli Wallach) are united in an epic scramble for buried gold set against the numbing violence of the Civil War. Bleak, beautiful landscapes, gallows humour and sordid violence all combine in this inspired masterpiece. Stuffed with now-iconic sequences, and with one of the most instantly recognisable music themes of all time, this is a pitch-perfect genre film full of blood, sweat and searing sun.
Fee: £4.60 full / £3.60 concessions and get £1.00 off all meal orders £6.95 or over in the Café/Bar on the same day with your ticket. See our full range of menus here.
