Morricone's three character themes: the famous harmonica, the clip-clop banjo, the wordless solo soprano, are perfect additions to an austere yet dazzling score. A pensive, wistful meditation on death, capitalism and greed, this is a grandiose, mythical ode to everything Leone loved about America and its movies.
