Contemporary Japanese Auteurs: A Stranger Of Mine (15) S
Dir: Kenji Uchida
Cast: Yasuhi Nakamura, Reika Kirishima, So Yamanaka, Yuka Itaya 98 mins, 2005, Japan, Subtitled
Please note: this was screened in March 2012
Seen from the viewpoints of five very different people (a heartbroken businessman, a cocky private detective, a yakuza boss, a two-timed girl and a con woman who twists men around her little finger) over the course of one evening, this slick comedy-drama scooped three awards at Cannes in 2005. To reveal too much would be to spoil its infinite pleasures, but suffice to say all five of them have something to hide...
Fee: £7.20 full / £5.60 concessions.
Special Ticket Offer: See any four films in the Contemporary Japanese Auteurs Season and get to see a fifth film in this season for free. To take advantage of this offer please call Box Office on 0117 927 5100 or visit them in person.
