Red Dog: Train

Red Dog (PG)

The highest grossing Australian film of 2011, and recently voted one of Australia's top ten films of all time. Based on the best-selling novel by Louis de Bernieres (Captain Corelli's Mandolin) that was inspired by local legend, Red Dog follows the life and times of Red Dog, a charismatic kelpie famous for his loveable nature, toxic farts, giant appetite and ability to hitch a ride by whatever means necessary. The scrappy stray helped play matchmaker, save lives and singlehandedly unite a small Australian mining community - a community that loved him so much they erected a bronze statue in the town when he died. Lovingly handled, funny and nostalgic, Red Dog is perfect family fare.

There will be a Cinébabies screening of Red Dog on Mon 27 Feb at 11:00.
