Lunchtime Talk: A Social TV platform

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

Andy Littledale and Lee Carrotte from SecondSync Limited will introduce their second screen platform. The platform allows developers to create synchronised companion apps for TV. It also measures social media engagement, providing insights into the emerging phenomenon of social TV.

The talk will cover both the technical aspects of synchronising content for companion apps and a wider discussion around social TV and where it is going.

SecondSync is a Bristol based startup with funding from the Technology Strategy Board.

This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday, which takes place at the Studio every week.

After the Talk, we also invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects. We provide chairs, tables, wireless and a great space. You bring what you need to work with (laptop/mobile). Our open afternoons close at 5pm.

Let us know if you'd like a tour of the new space and we'll be happy to show you around! Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
