30th Birthday: Open Studio - Peepboardpleasure
Please note: this event took place in June 2012
We're not only celebrating film on our birthday! The Pervasive Media Studio will be throwing open its doors and inviting you to experience some of the inspiring, wonderfully unusual and fantastically innovative work that takes place here. Residents will be showcasing some of their very cool work - come and play with creative projects like the AlphaSphere, nu desine's revolutionary electronic musical instrument and Theatre Jukebox, Stand and Stare's arcade-style cabinet that plays stories instead of records. Hourly guided tours will be available on the day.
Some of our studio residents are also showcasing their work in other parts of Watershed - in Waterside 3 between 15:00 until 22:00 Peepboardpleasure is a peep-board with a twist - poke your head through the peephole and watch as the illustrations around you come to life. Moving images magically envelop you in a world where you become a dancing flapper, a roaring lion or an overweight taxi driver.
Developed by Davy and Kristin McGuire.
Just turn up and have a go!
Please note: this is a old season with no further events to see
We couldn't let our 30th birthday pass without giving you all a little present from us. How do you fancy 30 hours of just some of the highlights in film, television and creative work - all directed, produced, or filmed in Bristol - and all for absolutely free? Give it a shake, open it up: it's our gift to you for being such a huge part of the last thirty fabulous years.
