Film

Please note: This was screened in Oct 2014

The Canadian landscape and the 'wilderness' we see today has been forged, perhaps more than on any other country on earth, by the hand of man. Over thousands of years nature was shaped by humans - initially by the First Nations people, then by European colonizers - to fit their needs and enable them to survive. Wild Canada follows in the footsteps of these first European explorers on a journey of exploration, aimed westwards, to re-discover this remarkable and beautiful land with its fabulous landscapes and wildlife, seen through fresh eyes.

Ice Worlds screens at the world's widest permanent cinema screen at ORBI in Yokohama. At 40m x 8m and curved over 180° this screen is almost twice as wide as a standard IMAX screen. It has a 22 channel 3D audio system, underfloor transducers, lighting, smoke, wind and scent effects, delivering a multisensory immersive viewing experience available in no other format.

Footage shot for the BBC's Frozen Planet series is reimagined and reengineered for this new theatrical space, enhanced with sensory technology and brought to life with an original 3D surround soundtrack.

Tickets: £3.50 full / £2.50 concessions. Special ticket offer: see ten films for £15.00 full / £10.00 concessions - book this special offer online here.
