Metal: A Headbangers Journey (15)
Dir: Sam Dunn/Scot McFadyen/Jessica Joy Wise
Cast: Tom Araya, Alice Cooper, Bruce Dickinson 98 mins, 2005, Canada
Please note: this is an old screening, first shown in June 2006
Since high school, Sam Dunn has had a passion for screaming guitars, blinding pyrotechnics and blown-out eardrums. Joined by co-directors Scot McFadyen and Jessica Joy Wise, the trio set forth on an international mission to glean the riotous rhyme and reason of metal. This intimate tribute to the dark side of rock follows tours and open-air fests, and features metal gods including Alice Cooper, icon Rob Zombie, Motörhead’s Lemmy, and Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson.
Fancy yourself as a prince (or princess) of darkness? Stop practicing your air guitar in the mirror, take your headbanging out of the sweaty mosh pit - we want you to show off these crucial life skills to the world in Watershed’s very own online headbanging and air guitar competition, open to die hard metal fans and non-believers alike.
