Momo Miyaura is an 11-year-old girl forced to relocate with her mother after the death of her father, in this heart warming animation who’s playfulness will appeal to both children and adults alike. Moving into the old family house on a remote island, Momo is at first none too fond of her new surroundings of old wooden buildings and holy shrines. But when into this emotional upheaval drops three supernatural imps who reside in her attic, Momo finds in them the support structure she craves to finally face up to the unimaginable grief of losing a parent. Together, they are able to solve the mystery of the unfinished letter that her father started to write to her before his untimely passing. This is the highly anticipated second feature by acclaimed anime director Hiroyuki Okiura (Jin-Roh). The way the worldly and the wondrous walk hand in hand evokes such milestone moments as My Neighbour Totoro, making it one of the most remarkable animated films of recent years.
