The City of the Future
Please note: this is an old event from June 2006
Filmmaker Patrick Keiller presents his AHRC supported project The City of the Future. Exploring the landscapes of films of c1895-1905 (from the bfi’s National Film and Television Archive) and assembling over 50 of these as a navigable DVD, the project investigates ways in which the city has changed during the last 100 years, and suggests a critique of present-day and possible future spatial experience.
Following the presentation Patrick Keiller will be in conversation with Ben Highmore, Reader in Cultural Studies at UWE.
