Mayfest in conversation
Lunchtime Talks
Please note: This event took place in May 2015
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
As April tips into May, the director of Mayfest, Matthew Austin will be talking about the upcoming festival, one of the highlights of Bristol's cultural calendar.
In conversation with Studio Producer, Verity McIntosh he will introduce us to some of the thinking behind curating “A pulse-racing programme of work ranging that offers fledgling local companies cheek by jowl with artists of international reputation" - The Guardian.
Offering everything from a relaxed, safe, social cafe in which to talk about death; to a pedestrian speaker symphony that enables you to travel the city as a walking orchestra; to an intimate storytelling performance about food, memory and grief; as well as the enhanced Mayfest Radio programme this year, promising "noise, voices, music and a touch of chaos" over the airwaves.
The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
