Urbanimals
Please note: This event took place in Nov 2015
Watershed has now unleashed all eight of the Urbanimals into Bristol – a playful pack of wild creatures created by Polish architects LAX (Laboratory of Architectural Experiments) and winner of Watershed's 2015 international Playable City Award. Leap with the graceful dolphin, chase a shy rabbit, find the secretive beetle or skip with a cheeky kangaroo. Lurking behind walls, hiding in dark corners, the Urbanimals are waiting in unexpected places across Bristol and are eager to play with passers by.
The locations where you can now spot an Urbanimal are:
Outside Watershed, Harbourside
Cathedral Steps, College Green
Clifton Down Shopping Centre
Easton Community Centre, Easton
St. Catherine’s Shopping Centre, East Street, Bedminster (Beetle is currently being a bit shy - we're hoping to send a vet out this Monday to fix him!)
Near Morrisons, Hartcliffe
Near Marriott Hotel, Temple Circus
Wells Road (near Southside bar), Totterdown
All locations are mapped here wshd.to/urbanimalsmap
As people pass or stop in front of any one of the four different creatures between dusk and midnight, the Urbanimals wake up. This magically interactive project has been created using projectors and sensors and stretches across the whole city in eight hidden locations until Thu 19 Nov.
