Food Residency Showcase At-Bristol
Please note: This event took place in July 2016
What is your favourite musical instrument, your heart-song, your jam? Now - what does it taste like?
As the winner of Watershed and At-Bristol’s first ever Food Residency, artist and designer Sabrina Shirazi has been exploring the common and unusual associations that we make between music, the imagery it evokes and importantly, its flavour. What do you think a sound of a cymbal tastes like?
Working with technologists, chefs, musicians, families and foodies from across the city, Sabrina has been developing a unique way to marry food with the sound of a musical instrument.
Join us for this special showcase event At-Bristol to hear all about Sabrina’s adventures in culinary composing. Hear from the artist, find out more about the residency process, test out some of her tasty experiments, or perhaps suggest your own sonic recipe!
This new residency was designed by Watershed and At-Bristol to support a creative individual to research, produce and present new ideas that combine art, technology and food. Supported by Arts Council England. This event will feature simultaneous BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation.
