Ale Festival Launch: Free Tasting Event

Ale Festival Launch: Free Tasting Event

Event

Please note: This event took place in Sept 2016

After the huge success of our summer Gin Festival (where more than 300 of you came to our free tasting event!) we return with another seasonal Festival, this time focusing on all things Ale! Our Ale Festival will run from Mon 5 Sept - Sun 27 Nov.

Join us to kick off the Festival at our special free Tasting Event on Mon 5 Sept to taste ales from three breweries from the South West: St Austell, Butcombe, and Bath Ales. You'll also get a chance to talk to the brewers behind the ales - they'll go through the tasting notes with you and give you any more information you need.

So what can you expect on the night? St Austell will be supplying Proper Job, an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and a single mat made from Cornish-grown Maris Otter Pale barley; Butcombe Brewery will serve Crimson King, a big red beer using rye malt to give a refreshing, spicy, dry flavour, and Bath Ales will be offering Forest Hare, a distinctive beer using imported New Zealand hops. We have recently been awarded a Cask Marque accreditation so rest assured all of our ales will be in perfect condition!

Following the huge success of last year's Ale Festival we want this year to be extra special, so along with a great list of ales we will also be offering a variety of whisky chasers. The Glenfiddich range will be making an appearance in the bar along with our current single malt Balvenie Double Wood. A full list of whiskies will be available on the evening.

Drop by for a free tasting (between 17:30 - 18:30 in W2 and 3) - come and be tempted! There will be a limited amount of ale available for the free tasting, after which you are more than welcome to order your favourite at the bar!
