This hopeful portrait of a girl who's down but not yet out follows her attempts to get her life back together after an impulsive decision.

When aimless 26 year old Ana turns up late for her job as a runner on a Belgian film set, it wouldn't be so bad were it not for the fact she has the lead actress in tow whom she was tasked to chauffeur on time to the shoot. Upon receiving a dressing down from the film’s producer, Ana decides there and then to quit and simply sets off in the rental car (a Porsche no less!) and into a world of her own. From here she drives to her hometown of Strasbourg where over the course of one scorching summer, she decides to replace her straight-talking, fun-loving grandmother’s bathtub with a walk-in shower, eat peas and carrots with ketchup, harvest plums, lose her driver’s license, sleep with her best friend and get back together with her ex – a dashingly pretentious video artist. In short, get her life together.

Combining order and chaos, in terms of both subject matter and stylistic approach, French director Rachel Lang’s intriguing debut is full of keen observations and themes that are open to multiple interpretations, all of which is infused with a sophisticated, occasionally surreal and deadpan physical humour – a rare combination indeed!
