This mischevious drama centres on Rika (Rie Miyazawa), a personal banker turned embezzler who falls head over heels in love and into a life of crime.

It's 1994, Japan's economic bubble has burst, and times are tough. Demure Rika, unsatisfied with her boring husband, begins to embezzle money from her clients' accounts to live it up with her young lover, paying his student debt, and throwing herself into a life of luxury hotels, restaurants, clothes and gifts. What begins as a few yen soon spirals into large sums of money and while it looks like Rika will get away scot-free, one eagle-eyed bank supervisor has other plans...

A devilishly delightful tale from Daihachi Yoshida (The Kirishima Thing), one of Japan's most exciting filmmakers, Pale Moon captures the depths some people will go to get what they desire.
