The Kellycaster
Lunchtime Talks
Please note: This event took place in Feb 2017
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
A Story About the Development of an Accessible Guitar
Drake Music works in music, disability and technology. For this Lunchtime Talk, we welcome Gawain Hewitt, Associate National Manager: Research and Development at Drake Music. Gawain will introduce the DMLab programme, an innovative collaboration between Drake Music and the Maker community, that has led to real change both in design but also in how accessible music making is perceived. Gawain will focus on the Kellycaster, a bespoke accessible guitar that musician John Kelly has designed with the group, and is almost completed.
The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk
