Festival of Ideas: Bernie Sanders Live from St George’s

Event

Please note: This event took place in June 2017

The Bernie Sanders Festival of Ideas talk at St George's Bristol sold out in less than an hour. In response to the huge demand to see Sanders, Watershed and Festival of Ideas have teamed up to offer people a chance to watch his talk live streamed directly from St George's into Cinemas 1 and 3. Watershed audiences will also have the opportunity to pre-order a signed book (see below), and pre-submit a question for Sanders.

Bernie Sanders stormed to international headlines after running an extraordinary campaign for the Democratic primaries that saw over 13 million people turn out to vote for him, and thereby changed the global discussion surrounding US politics. But how did a relative unknown and a democratic socialist make such waves?

Sanders provides a unique insight into the campaign that galvanised a movement, sharing experiences and the ideas and strategies that shaped it. Drawing on decades of experience as an activist and public servant, Sanders outlines his ideas for continuing this revolution, arguing for a progressive economic, environmental, racial and social justice agenda that creates jobs, raises wages and protects the planet.

This event is a live stream of the Bernie Sanders talk in St George's. Bernie Sanders will not be at Watershed in person. The talk will start at 11:00 so please arrive early to take your seats.

All Watershed ticket holders can pre-order a signed copy of Our Revolution (these will either be signed books or signed specially printed book plates for insertion in the books - special price of £8.00 - £9.99 RRP) which you can collect in the Watershed foyer after the talk.
