A captivating biopic of Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen (aka Tom of Finland) one of the most influential and celebrated figures of twentieth century gay culture whose iconic homoerotic drawings became the emblem of a generation of men and fanned the flames of a gay revolution.

After the trauma of serving in WWII, Touko Laaksonen (Pekka Strang) returns home to a Helsinki that is equally distressing: a place rampant with homophobia, where he had to hide his sexuality. As the secret affairs and police crackdowns wear on him, he commits to his liberating art, specialising in explicit drawings of muscular, uninhibited gay men in head-to-toe black leather, drawing inspiration from the uniforms that oppress him. When an American publisher sees them, Touko is invited over and stardom beckons...

A witty, kinky, and moving portrayal of one man, his art, and their place in modern history.

On Friday 11 August from 19:00 join members of The UK Leather Pride team in the bar for drinks before the opening night screening which starts at 20:30.

In partnership with Queer Vision, the Bristol Pride Film Festival.
