UWE_FILM (the re-launched BA Hons Filmmaking at UWE) will be screening a selection of its recent graduate work in an event hosted by Programme Leader Freya Billington. A mix of drama, documentary and experimental shorts will be followed by a brief talk, then drinks and a chance to chat with the whole teaching team and some of our students.

Covering all aspects of Film and Moving Image Production, the course benefits hugely from its location in the thriving media hub that is Bristol, working with companies including Bottleyard Film Studios, BBC N.H.U., Films@59, Aardman and Icon Films. A collaborative relationship with Watershed (and programmer Mark Cosgrove) has enabled student screenings and Q&A’s with directors like Ben Wheatley (High Rise), Gurinder Chadha (Bend it Like Beckham) and Hope Dickson-Leach (The Levelling).

This year, alongside films made for the course, students have made films for Random Acts(Channel 4), 16mm Commercials for the NAHEMI Kodak National Competition, been selected for NETWORK at the Edinburgh TV Festival and won BEST FACTUAL FILM at the National Royal Television Awards.
