The Lady is a Vamp Late Nights
Please note: this season finished in Feb 2014
Vampires have been good to British BAFTA-winning and Oscar®-nominated producer Stephen Woolley. In 1994 he made Interview with the Vampire with director Neil Jordan, and reunited with him last year for the stylish Byzantium.
For this special Late Night season Stephen has hand picked four of his favourite vampire films, each refreshingly told from a female perspective. From Catherine Deneuve in The Hunger, to Delphine Seyrig in Daughters of Darkness, Gemma Arterton in Woolley's latest Byzantium and the great scream queen Ingrid Platt in Countess Dracula, these are films that you can really sink your teeth into.
Tickets: £5.50 full / £4.00 concessions.
Feeling a bit blood-thirsty yourself? We've created our very own Bloody Mary cocktail which will be available to buy in the Café/Bar on Fridays in February - the perfect accompaniment to our Lady is a Vamp Late Nights.
Sink your teeth into this! We've got loads more Gothic goodies coming up this month, including Jim Jarmusch's vampiric love story Only Lovers Left Alive which screens from Fri 21 Feb for at least two weeks (with a preview screening Fri 14 Feb at 20:10) and there is a rare screening of Carl Dreyer's profoundly unsettling masterpiece Vampyr with an original live score on Thu 20 Feb 18:00. We are even looking for a team of musicians aged 18 - 25 years old to bring the dark heart of a BFI Gothic short back to life in our What's The Score? BFI Gothic workshop (Sun 23 Feb 13:00).
Presented as part of BFI Gothic.
