Let All The Children Boogie: BBC Radio 6 Music Fringe

Let All The Children Boogie: The Fringe at Watershed

Season

Please note : this season finished in Feb 2016

Supported by BBC Radio 6 Music Festival

The power and influence of popular music was never more poignantly evident than in the response to the death of David Bowie. We realised just how much his music and presence were and are part of the fabric of our lives.

Whilst we mourn we also celebrate and as the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival takes over Bristol we present a range of films, music and events which feature influential icons such as Janis Joplin and Mavis Staples, Bristol talent from Tricky and Fresh 4 to BBC Introducing the next generation of new music talent. Special guests include The Pop Group's Mark Stewart (who will introduce Re:sound), Tom Geens (director of Couple in a Hole) and lots of great DJ names - see below for further details.

There will be films, there will be DJs, there will be dancing and there will be Bowie; there will always be Bowie.

Throughout The Fringe season Scott Hendy (Boca 45/Malachai) will be our resident DJ in the Café/Bar, spinning tunes with special guests from Thu-Sat 19:30 – 00:00 and Sunday 14:00 – 20:00. Entry to The Fringe DJ events are free, and with guests ranging from John Parish (PJ Harvey), John Stapleton (Wanted Records), DJ Cheeba (Ninja Tune/Solid Steel), Billy Fuller (BEAK>) and Fresh 4’s DJ Krust, Suv and Flynn spinning everything from Bristol sounds, 60s/70s psych, rock, soundtracks, soul, funk, reggae and blues – there’s something for everyone.

Let’s dance.
