Riding Home

Becky Dix

Riding Home uses shadows and abstracted film clips shot in St Werburghs to capture the feeling of relief as a busy day in the city comes to an end. In the summer as I ride through the train tunnel time seems to slow down in this unique part of Bristol and I’m surrounded by friendly sites, smells and sounds.

Transcript

Riding home

Noise, traffic

St Werburghs

Through the tunnel

Busy day is fading

Colours, nature, smells and sounds and breathe

I throw my bike down

I’m home

Our garden

Has a stream

Taking a walk, a feast for my eyes.

The self build

Friends, families

A city farm

then, allotments

Where people grow amazing things

Or just relax

The busy day is forgotten until tomorrow

When I look forward to riding through the tunnel again.
