Performance

Please note: This event took place in Feb 2016

Billy Fuller (BEAK>), DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tunes) and Scott Hendy (Malachai/Boca 45) play Bristol Sounds from 19:30 – 00:00

The first of our free DJ nights curated by Scott Hendy sees us celebrate the sounds of Bristol with a night of music, visuals and film past and present. Join Scott and guests in the Café/Bar before and after Re:sound (18:00), a documentary on how Bristol’s music has been shaped over the years, and a special preview of A Couple In A Hole (20:30), with a score from Bristol band BEAK>. This is one not to be missed!

More details about the guest DJs below:

Billy Fuller (BEAK>)

Bristol born and bred, Billy is known mostly for being the bass player with BEAK> and with Robert Plant. Although he has also played as a session player on records by Massive Attack, Baxter Dury, Malachai, Anika & Rachid Taha amongst others. In his youth he worked in local record shops like the much missed Replay Records so likes to have a go at spinning his collection when he’s allowed!

DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tunes)

DJ Cheeba is the sight and sound of Solid Steel’s new school and has found an audience world wide with his unique style of turntablism and video manipulation. Since joining Ninja Tune’s legendary Solid Steel radio show as a resident, Cheeba has produced a variety of celebrated projects including video mixes, movie re-scores, commissioned adverts and documentaries as well as the eclectic mix tapes that have gone viral worldwide and topped iTunes download charts.
